Hey, Self. We need to talk

“Oh boy, what is it this time? Did I forget to turn off the cooker again? Leave the lights on? Or worse, buy another unnecessary throw pillow from Enkaji Households that I absolutely didn’t need but couldn’t resist?”
“Actually, it’s none of that… though we should circle back to the 13 throw pillows situation. I was just thinking, have you noticed how much time we spend obsessing over making the living room Insta-worthy but then panic-clean when guests actually come over?”
“Okay, guilty as charged. But to be fair, the coffee table really ties the room together now.”
“True, true. But here’s my point: What if we styled the whole house like that? You know, gave the kitchen, bedroom, and even the bathroom the ‘living room treatment’ with products that scream ‘I have my life together’ but don’t break the bank?”
“Hmm… so you’re suggesting we go full ‘Enkaji mode’—an organized kitchen, a cozy bedroom, a spa-like bathroom? And let me guess, you’re about to tell me how to do it.”
“Exactly. Let’s start small. Remember that herb grinder? Uji game-changer, right? Now imagine extending that same effort to the rest of the house—storage baskets in the bedroom, stylish stools for the kitchen island, maybe even a plant or two for the bathroom.”
“Okay, but hear me out. This feels like a commitment. Are we ready to fully adult?”
“Are we ready to NOT adult? Imagine how peaceful life would be if everything had its place. Plus, think about how smug we’ll feel when guests say, ‘Wow, your house is so put-together,’ and we just casually smile like it’s no big deal.”
“Alright, you win. But only if we get that velvet accent chair I saw last week. Deal?”*
“Deal. Now, go shop at Enkaji before you change your mind.”
“Talking to yourself—still the most productive meeting of the day.”
